PICTDA Director General, Mr Daser David, responded by explaining the creation of The Plateau ICT Development Agency (PICTDA) and further explained the essence of the Plateau State ICT Policy and Strategic Plan, how it was achieved and adopted in the state.
He said the ICT Policy was formulated in 2018 but adopted recently and that Silicon Valley is a value chain where citizens can benefit as there is no legal framework to build skills on the Plateau because it takes a legislation to make such. He said that it must change with ICT as youths must yearn for training and empowerment not just rely on government for employment. The Government was very much interested in turning the tides as leading to the creation of the agency.
He also pointed out some initiatives that will give ICT enthusiast/ Bloggers free internet service after office hours. And he promised to work with bloggers if they will unite and work as one to build the right image for the state. Mr Daser went on to call on bloggers to work more on positive narratives as what ever is built today will determine how tomorrow will be for the next generation.
